— About Us
The History of WPP Utah
Women in Private Practice Utah got its start somewhere in the 1980's. A small group of therapists led initially by Ruth Manville, started to meet to support each other.
Susan Lyons became the guiding leader for the group and contributed significantly to the overall development of WPP. Susan built a team of volunteers who added a list serve to facilitate communication, free virtual CEU events, annual social events and most recently an annual conference which is now provided both in person and online to meet the needs of our members statewide.
At present we are a group of approximately 600 members from multiple disciplines, including fully and provisionally licensed therapists as well as students across the state of Utah.
In order to become a member of Women in Private Practice, you must be committed to the support and development of female-identifying mental health therapists, and licensed for practice in Utah (fully or provisionally). We do offer a student membership that allows individuals access to our free CEU events. You must also be in private practice- whether at the very early stages or many years in!
